COUNTED WORTHY TO SUFFER
Suffering is something that naturally shrinks from. Yet in the path of faith and obedience, we will all be called to suffer for Christ in either great or small ways.
And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
- Acts 5:41
Peter and John had been both beaten and threatened not to speak any more in the name of Christ. What was their response? They rejoiced that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for the name of Christ. May God grant that we will boldly stand for Christ in this sinful world, and rather than expecting to be appreciated and respected, accept suffering when it comes our way. More than that, we should count it an honor, and rejoice that we are able to suffer for the Lord, who gave His life for us.

MORE THAN THESE?
Our true love is revealed, not merely by what we say, but to a far greater degree by what we do.
So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
- John 21:15
The resurrected Christ posed this question to Peter. Do you love Me more than these? He was referring to these other disciples. Peter boasted that he was more devoted to Christ than all the others, but in the hour of trial, he denied Christ it once, but three times. The Lord used this question to further restore Peter to fellowship and ministry. If you truly love Me, feed My lambs. Minister to and care for My people. Speak about your love and back it up with your actions. And never compare yourself to others.
