A Vessel Unto Honor
Our bodies are likened to containers or vessels, and we come in many shapes, sizes, and colors. We should earnestly desire to be vessels that God can use for His glory.
But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
- 2 Timothy 2:20-21
God doesn’t need big vessels, pretty vessels, smart vessels, or shiny ones. He is looking for clean vessels, just as we do when we want to drink of water, or put food on our plates. And He is looking for vessels that are available to Him for His use. Those are the ones who are vessels of honor. When we seek to be vessels of honor unto the Lord, then we ourselves are also honored by Him, and we are most fulfilled.
