LEARNING TO OBEY
Obedience is one of the most important aspects of our Christian lives. We can say that we believe and talk spiritual talk, but obedience is the expression and the evidence of our relationship with God.
Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered. - Hebrews 5:8
In the glories of Heaven Christ did not have to obey because He is God. But when He took on our humanity and came to Earth, He learned by experience to obey. Though He was still God while on Earth, He obeyed His earthly mother and adopted earthly father. He also obeyed the law of God perfectly. If Jesus is God and He obeyed, how much more ought we to obey! His suffering was not for His sin, for He had none. It was wholly for our sins. May God help us to live out our faith in obedience, even when we must suffer for it.
