A BETTER COUNTRY
We should be thankful for where God has graciously allowed us to live. But amidst political turmoil, crime, temptations, and much social upheaval, we desire something better.
But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
- Hebrews 11:16
And just like Abraham and the patriarchs of old, God has prepared something better for us. Heaven is likened unto a country for its vastness in size. But it is also like unto a city for its great population of people. There will be no sin, war, or corruption of any kind in heaven. And this is what believers in Christ have to look forward to as our eternal inheritance. In the meantime, God has called us to be salt and light where we live to make a difference. And we are to seek to reach others with the gospel so they can go with us.
