The Least and the Greatest
It is often easy to show love and concern for those whom we consider to be important. But our Lord gives us a much higher standard.
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. - Matthew 25:40
The Lord says that when we show love to those who are the least of these, we are showing it unto Him. This means we’re not merely to love those who are lovely, those who have something to offer us, or those who will always show appreciation. We are to love those whom the world views as important. This is especially true when it comes to other believers in Christ. We must not pick and choose whom to love; we must love those who are considered the least, as well as those who are considered the greatest. And so doing, we are showing our true love for Christ.
