OUR HELP WHEN WE SELF-DESTRUCT
Sometimes we can be our own worst enemies. This is always the case when we reject God‘s Word and insist on going our own way. But even after we have made a mess of things, we can turn to the Lord for help.
O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help. - Hosea 13:9
God’s people were living in idolatry and wickedness, and had brought destruction upon themselves in so doing. Usually destruction means that things are hopeless, but there is always hope with God! They did not even call upon God, but the Lord reached out to them. When we sin and make wrong choices of any kind that bring calamity upon our lives, we must quickly turn to the Lord and cry unto Him for help. He will chasten us for sin, but He will never leave nor forsake us. But He will reclaim and restore us.

I am so grateful that when I make a mess of things, the LORD is always there to provide help. Always. Thanks for the reminder, Pastor.
