DO UNTO OTHERS FIRST
We all desire kind and fair treatment from others. That is a reasonable expectation. But our focus should be first on how we are treating others.
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

This has been called the Golden Rule, perhaps because of its extreme value in human relationships. God calls us to have expectations of ourselves before having any expectation from anyone else. We are to initiate kindness, helpfulness, and certainly the fair treatment of others. This works well when others return it in like kind. But that is not to be our driving motivation. We are to treat others with kindness and love because that is how God has treated us. Do unto others first, and leave the rest in God’s hands.
