STILL TRUSTING WHILE ON THE CROSS
We are really good at talking about faith when all is well, but our true faith is revealed in the moment of our most severe trials. Our Lord Jesus set the example for us.
He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
- Matthew 27:43
The crowd before the cross mockingly said that Jesus trusted (in the past tense) in God. In reality, He was still trusting in God, even as He died on the cross for our sins. May we learn to trust the Lord to do what is best for us whether God delivers us right away, or deliverance does not come in the way we desire. Our God is faithful and He will always do what is best for His children. Let it never be said of us that we “trusted“ in God, but rather that we still trust in Him, no matter what we face.
