IT IS NOT MY LIFE
While we sometimes seek to have an independent spirit, we must remember that in the truest sense, our lives are not our own.
For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
- Romans 14:7-8
Our lives are firmly linked to those who know us, love us, and care about us. To a great degree, when we hurt, others hurt with us, and when we rejoice, others are able to rejoice with us. But much more importantly, our lives are not our own because we were redeemed by Christ, and now we belong to Him. There is no room for selfishness in the Christian life. Now we are to live to please our Lord and to edify others. In so doing, the Lord will take care of us in life and receive us unto Himself when our earthly journey ends.
