NO EXCUSES
Too often we struggle with a lack of motivation and desire for what is right. We must beware of making ever-present excuses.
And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. - Luke 14:18
The people in this parable missed out on a great banquet that represents heaven because of their excuses. We will also miss out on the best things that God has for us if we follow their example. Making excuses also hinders our growth and prevents positive change in our lives. We must pray continuously for the desire and strength to fulfill our responsibilities, and to avail ourselves of the opportunities that the Lord brings to us. Let us not give excuses for our failures and shortcomings, but only strive to be better for the glory of God.
