A GOOD UNDERSTANDING
Being an intelligent person can be a blessing, but unfortunately, there are many wise fools in our world today. We need godly wisdom and good understanding.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
- Psalm 111:11
True wisdom is skill for living a fulfilling life, and that starts with the fear of God.
Good understanding is insight into how life works from the perspective of God’s Word. A person with good understanding obeys the Lord out of loving devotion, knowing that God’s ways are best and will lead to ultimate blessing. And what they do not understand, they trust the Lord to work out for their good and for His glory. May the Lord give us both wisdom and a good understanding.
