PRAYER, NOT PANIC

In the heat of trial and tribulation, when our faith is being severely tested, we can be tempted to panic. We must be mindful to pray, and to pray in faith.

And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? - Mark 4:37-38

The storm was severe, and the ship appeared to be sinking. But Jesus was on board! And the disciples’ prayer was really an accusation. Master, don’t you care that we are about to perish? He proved He cared when He left heaven to come to this earth. He proved He cared by being on the ship with them and not abandoning them. He proved He cared by calming the storm. He ultimately proved just how much He cares by dying on the cross for our sins. Even in the trials, let us pause and pray in faith, not in fear and panic.
