Blessed and Not Offended
The Lord will send or allow some difficult circumstances to come into our lives that we don’t understand. Even while we are questioning to ourselves why this is happening, we must continue to trust in Him.
And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
- Matthew 11:6
The word offended does not refer to having hurt feelings, but rather to stumbling spiritually. John the Baptist was in prison for preaching the truth, but Jesus did not get him out. He began to doubt if Jesus was really the Messiah and was at the point of stumbling. Like John, we must trust the Lord when we are going through the worst of times and not stumble in our faith, knowing that He has a perfect plan and that He will always do what is best. We will receive a blessing for believing instead of stumbling.
