INTERRUPTIONS, OR APPOINTMENTS?

One of life’s difficult challenges is learning how to respond to unexpected disruptions. Our Lord is the perfect example in this.

And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.
And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

- Mark 6:33-34

The Lord took the disciples apart for a retreat, but the people followed them and got to the destination ahead of them. When the Lord saw the people, He had compassion on them and ministered to their needs. Sometimes what looks like an interruption is actually an appointment. We need to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading and to know when we need to pause the task at hand and minister to someone in need. May the Lord give us wisdom to discern how to respond to disruptions.
