LIGHT SHINING IN THE DARKNESS
In the spiritual realm, darkness represents evil, and light represents truth and righteousness. When we were lost in sin, we loved the darkness and were comfortable in it, but all of that should change when we receive Jesus Christ as Savior.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
- John 3:20-21
Since Christ is the light of the world, and we are in Him by faith, our lives should also be mini lights, contrasting the darkness wherever we go. And the things of God which used to make us uncomfortable should be the realm in which we find ourselves most at home. And the things of sin and darkness where we used to dwell should repulse us. But we should never get so far from them that we despise those who are still in the darkness. Let us go forth and let our lights be shining today.
