GOING DOWN, OR BEING UPHELD?
The world’s way to receive honor is by self-promotion, boasting, and raw ambition. But it is just the opposite in the kingdom of God.
A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
- Proverbs 29:23
Pride and arrogance will always ultimately bring us down, because God resists the proud. But He gives grace to the humble. It is best that we focus our attention on being faithful where God has placed us, and to remember that any success and blessing that we experience ultimately comes from Him anyway. Let us not hesitate to give God glory, and to show gratitude to others who have helped or blessed us. This will keep us grounded and humble, and God will continue to uphold us by His grace.
