WHEN GOD BLESSES US
We definitely want and need God to bless us in many ways. And He will surely do so, but we must look beyond ourselves.
God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.
That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.
- Psalm 67:1-2
We need God‘s mercy because we still sin. We need His blessing because He has all power in His hands. His face shining upon us refers to Him showing us favor when we need it. But His blessing is always bigger than us and our need. He wants to bless us and to make us a blessing to others. The blessing is never meant to stop with the individual, but to keep moving to others. The best blessing that we have ever received is the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. This good news is too good to keep to ourselves. God wants to bless the whole world with the good news of salvation. Let us be channels of blessing, and not hoarders of blessings.
