MAN OPPOSES, BUT GOD OVERRULES
It is impossible to get through life without being opposed and disliked by some people. It is especially difficult to take when it seems that there is no just cause behind it. But even when others oppose us, God is working.
And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.
Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.
- Genesis 45:4-5
Joseph’s brothers hated him and sold him into Egypt, but God overruled their evil intentions to put Joseph in place to be second in command in Egypt. He will also overrule the evil that is done to us if we do not become bitter and given over to self-pity. He has the power to bring good out of evil and to make things done against us work on our behalf in the long run. We trust Him and know that He is working. So we must patiently wait.
