ONCE FOR ALL
Many people spend much of their lives trying to do religious things to please God and hopefully find a place in heaven. None of them are of any value.
For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. - Hebrews 9:26
The only good work that pleases God is the sacrifice of Christ on the cross for sinners. Christ died once for all people of all times. This is in contrast to the ongoing activities of many religious people trying to earn their way to heaven. Jesus truly paid it all, once on the cross of Calvary. By trusting in Him and His death for our sins, we can be saved in a moment, once for all. Then after we are saved, we can do good works out of gratitude and love rather than out of fear of judgment.
