THE BOOK THAT READS US
There is a God in heaven, and He has not left Himself without witness. He has given us His precious and powerful Word, the Bible.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. - Hebrews 4:12
In reading the Bible with an open mind, we quickly discover that it is not like any other book. The Bible reveals Christ to us, but it also reveals our inner thoughts, motives, and directly tells us about ourselves. We read the Bible, but the Bible truly also reads us. It not only shows us what is wrong with us, but it directs us how to get right. It shows the sins and follies of man, but also the grace and mercy of God. It points us to Christ. It is God’s means of spiritual growth for every believer, and our growth shall surely be stunted without it.
