PROSPEROUS IN A BAD SITUATION
We usually associate prosperity with financial wealth, but that is certainly not the kind.
And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand. - Genesis 39:2-3
Joseph found himself as a slave in a foreign land. He had no freedom, no finances, and seemingly no future. But he determined to trust the Lord and do his very best right where he was. He worked diligently every day without self-pity or bitterness, trusting that the Lord was in control. Twice we are told that he was prosperous, meaning he was blessed by the Lord. When we find ourselves in a bad situation beyond our control, we must remember that God is with us and trust Him to make us prosperous right where we are. He is most often fitting us for a better place.
