GRATEFUL, NOT BOASTFUL
God gives us many blessings as we go through life, but we must be careful not to be deceived into thinking that we are the cause of those blessings.
For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it? - 1 Corinthians 4:7
Any advantage that we have in life, whether it be skill, beauty, financial resources, or position, is only by the hand of God. We receive our intelligence from Him. We receive our opportunities and attractiveness from Him. These blessings are not meant to make us boastful so that we can look down on others, but they are to make us grateful, knowing that every benefit we have is received from the hand of a gracious God. Determine to look down on no one, but only to use whatever strengths that you have to be a blessing to others.
