A FRIEND AND A BROTHER
God in His great wisdom has made us for relationship with Himself and with each other. As such, we need to do all we can to cultivate strong relationships with one another.
A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. - Proverbs 17:17
We certainly cannot be best friends with everyone, but we ought to be friends to all believers in Christ. At the same time, we are definitely brothers and sisters to all who are saved. As friends, we ought to love one another through good times and bad, and through up times and down times. Our love should be evident for one another. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we ought to stand with one another in times of adversity. We are to encourage one another, pray with and for one another, and help one another in any way that we can. God has made us both friends and brothers (and sisters) for all eternity.
