JUST BE STILL
There are obviously many stages in life through which we must go. Sometimes we need to get moving, but sometimes we just need to be still.
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
- Psalm 46:10
When we have a clear command from God, we need to step out in faith and get moving. But when there is absolutely nothing we can do about our situation, then we must be still. This is a caution not to run ahead of God, trying to take matters into our own hands. This is a prayerful, trusting, confidence in God that allows us to be still while God works. When you don’t know what to do, be still. When it seems there’s nothing you can do, be still. When you are tempted to respond in anger or in any fleshly way, be still. Waiting on the Lord is always worth it, and we will never regret it.
