STANDING FIRM AND BEING HELD
It is every believer’s responsibility to stand firm against sin and to be faithful to the Lord. But even so, we cannot do it alone.
O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:
Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.
- Psalm 66:8-9
We bless the Lord, for when we are seeking to obey Him, He knows we cannot do it in our own strength. We have fallen in the past, and will do so again in the future. We must both trust and obey, for He is the one who is holding our souls all through life. He is able to keep us standing when the winds of adversity are blowing strong and it seems there was no one to help. When we are weak, he is the one who will keep our feet from being moved from where we ought to be. And so we bless His name.
