OUT OF WHAT WE HAVE
Our Lord knows all about us, and His requirements of us are based on this truth.
For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
- 2 Corinthians 8:12
This principle is mentioned in the context of our giving, but applies to every area of the Christian life. The Lord does not want from us what we don’t have, rather He desires what we do have. Though our gifts, talents, or abilities may seem insignificant, the Lord can take what we have and make a big difference with it. We must not expend any effort lamenting what we do not have or comparing ourselves with others. We must determine to be faithful where we are and with what we have. This is what the Lord expects, and herein is the place of blessing and of reward.
