WHAT WE LOOK FOR
As believers, we know that we are as sojourners on earth, and that we often do not fit in at all. That is because we are looking for something better than this world.
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
- 2 Peter 3:13-14
This current world system will never be fixed or made right. We look for the return of Christ, and the new heavens and the new earth. And unlike our current world, righteousness will prevail at that time. In the meantime, we are not to be living with an escapist mindset, but we are to live in peace with one another and to live holy lives. We are also to be witnesses to those who are perishing in this world. And we are to do so with all diligence. Live in this moment, but keep on looking up.
