TEMPLES OF THE LIVING GOD
In the Old Testament, the temple was a physical building where people would go to offer sacrifices to God. Believers in the New Testament still need to assemble together, but our sacrifice and worship are much more personal.
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
- 2 Corinthians 6:16
Now we are the temple of God. He dwells in every believer in the Person of the Holy Spirit. Attending church with other believers is vital, but God does not live in any building. We are able to worship Him anytime and anywhere because Christ is with us and in us always. As temples of the living God, our very lives are to be living sacrifices for His glory.
