THE TRUE GOD VS IDOLS
Human beings are instinctively worshipers, but we must make sure we are worshiping the true God.
Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?
But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. - Psalm 115:2-5
There is a difference between the gods that men make, and the God who created men. Fallen, sinful man desires a god that he can see and control so he can feel good about himself. But our God is in heaven and He is in control of all things. He made us and He knows what is best for us. We trust His works and not our own. We believe His work of creation, and we trust in His work of salvation through Jesus Christ. It is our desire to trust and obey Him every day, and receive His strength for the journey. And we must determine to flee from every idol.
