HEARING AND DOING
It is good to hear and to know Bible truth, but that is only half of what we are called to do.
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. - Matthew 7:24-26
It is easy to think that you are spiritually mature because you know a lot of Scripture and understand Bible doctrines. But our Lord said that we must HEAR and DO what He says in the Word. What we know will be tested by the storms of life. When we walk in obedience to the Word, we will stand the test in the storms. But if all we have is head knowledge, then we will stumble and fall when they come. May God grant that we will be hearers of the Word and doers also.
