GIVE SATAN NO ADVANTAGE
We who are saved by grace are more than conquerors in Christ. But for now, we must remember that we have an enemy, the devil, who constantly opposes us. He will not ultimately defeat us, but we must never give him an advantage.
To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
- 2 Corinthians 2:10-11
There may be many ways to give Satan the advantage, but one of them is certainly refusing to forgive one who has hurt us. And remember that forgiveness is required, even if they do not repent or apologize to us. Reconciliation can only take place when the offender repents. Reconciliation takes two, but forgiveness only takes one. We must go through life, forgiving all who do things against us lest we give Satan the advantage over us in any way. And seek to be reconciled when possible.
