OUR GOOD HERITAGE
When we think of our heritage, we usually think of something handed down to us from our family in previous generations. And while that can be good, God has something far better in store for us.
The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
- Psalm 16:5-6
Believers in Christ have something far more valuable than property or other earthly possessions. We have the Lord Himself! And as such, we share in everything that the Lord owns, and we will do so for all of eternity. Be not discouraged or disheartened if you have little or no earthly inheritance, or if you have a bad or embarrassing heritage. What we received on earth in this life we will leave behind. But our blessed heritage in the Lord begins now, and we will experience it in heaven forever.
