PUT ON THE NEW MAN
Salvation makes us new creatures in Christ Jesus and gives us a new spiritual identity. Then God calls us to walk in newness of life.
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
- Ephesians 4:22-24
God has already done away with the old and replaced it with the new as far as our position is concerned. We must daily and continually put off the old mindset and the old practices of our lives before we were saved, and put on the new person we have become in our daily living. We can do this effectively as we are renewed in the spirit of our minds by the Word of God and prayer as the Holy Spirit works in us to continue the life transformation.
